1) Give up your unhealthy lifestyle.

As a former personal trainer, this hits close to home. If you want to achieve anything in life, it starts here. Forget the six pack and beach body because that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The energy, confidence, and discipline you get when you walk the journey of a healthy lifestyle is where the real gold is.

You don’t have to be a monk about it but exercise daily, drink water, get adequate sleep, and eat whole foods and vegetables. You will feel and look like a different person in 30 days, I guarantee it.

Don’t forget you only have one body. Take care of it. There’s no upgrades or trade in’s here.

2) Give up your dependency on social media and Netflix.

The age of distraction is among us. The ability to sit and focus for a few hours at a time is now a superpower. It’s far too easy and seductive to get caught in the loop of checking notifications or be at the mercy of our devices.

You think you have time but you don’t.

The time wasted glued to a screen is a serious problem and nothing will keep you from your goals by sucking away those precious hours more.

3) Give up your short-term thinking.

Anything worthwhile takes time, and a lot more of it than you think.

You can choose the pain of short-term sacrifice for long term success. OR you can give up on your goals and achieve short term happiness. That’s the only choice you have.

You must give up the things everyone gets to do, to go on to do the things no one gets to do.

4) Give up waiting.

The best time to start anything is yesterday, and the second best is right now. There is no perfect time to do anything. You will fail your way to the top.

5) Give up negative thinking.

If you’re here, reading this article and you made it this far, you are smarter and more capable than you think.

Studies show we are often our own worst enemies with our faulty belief and shaky self confidence. But you’re here now, so you’re looking for the answers, you care about growth and improvement, and you’re ahead of the curve because of that.

You can do this. If no one believes in you, I do.

6) Give up excuses.

Enough. You are responsible for the outcome of your life. No matter your starting point, past, or failures. Nobody cares. You may have been dealt the worst hand but it’s how you play your cards.

Now go get it.
