Life is always a problem
I wish I had learned this sooner then at 34. Rocky has a quote that life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. I’ll take it a step further, it’s rarely ever that.
If you zoom out on the world today, you see beauty and happiness, but underneath that, there is universal struggle. We all are carrying the load of life.
Health, relationships, money, family.
The things we often worry about. We struggle to make ends meet, to belong, to take care ourselves, to go after our dreams, to remember to floss our teeth, to call our mother back. There are fleeting moments where you feel fully relaxed and ontop of things, but then it’s snap back to reality. (op there goes gravity)
Your neighbor, friend, coworker, and you yourself, are probably all going through it right now, to some degree, dealing with the constant hurdles of life itself. I think you’d have to be crazy not too, either that or ignorant.
You say you’re good, when asked “how are you”, but are you really?
Some days are better then others.
When I started recognizing how life is endless problems, it actually came as a relief. Things would pop up and instead of why? Another one? wtf? I came to expect it.
What can go wrong, will go wrong.
So I’d figure out the solution, move to the next thing, ready for the next problem. And if I didn’t see one, I’d start to look, because I knew one was coming.
Problems are not bad or negative. I’m sure they teach this in Buddhism. They just are. It was all an opportunity for growth.
What game is a straight shot to the finish line? You need the struggle, drama and build up.
Welcome the problems. The scars and stories of life
My dirtbike accident that ended me in the hospital is still asked about months later. It was a serious problem but ended up bringing me closer to some people on the trip. It was a topic of conversation and the guy that drove me to the hospital is now a guy I hang with regularly. So I have a new friend and the scars and story to go with it. All because things went wrong.
